The Corona Virus is causing a ripple effect through the daily lives of almost everyone around the world. Travel plans down to buying toilet paper have become something you may end up seriously thinking about before heading out on the town. Rumor is that stores like Costco are running out of TP and hand sanitizer, but don’t panic! You can make it yourself. Here are a few easy steps to create your own, custom made, virus-fighting formula.

Ingredients

  • Rubbing Alcohol (at least 60%)
  • Aloe Vera Gel
  • Essential Oil (optional but recommended)
    • Note: I used 70% Rubbing Alcohol to avoid excessive drying of the skin

Tools:

  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon
  • Small funnel
  • Travel bottle or pump bottle

Dollar Tree is a little gold mine for DIY concoctions like this!

Step One: Gather your tools and ingredients. I found the small travel bottles and kitchen funnel at Dollar Tree. The funnels come in a three piece set which are really handy to have around.

Step Two: To fill one small travel bottle (80 ml), add 1/2 cup rubbing alcohol to a heaping 1/4 cup Alo Vera Gel. Stir well with a spoon. Next, add eight to ten drops of essential oil of your choice and remix. I used my Thieves since it is known for its cleaning properties.

Step Three: Place the small kitchen funnel in one of the travel bottles, and carefully pour the contents until almost full. There will be a tiny amount left over.

That’s it! You have your very own hand-made hand sanitizer. Stay healthy with this DIY hand sanitizer made with only 3 household products you probably already have. Label the bottle, and you are good to go.

Happy Sanitizing!
